Biologische Proben und Daten werden daher auch\r\nals die Schlüsselressource für den Fortschritt in Medizin und Biotechnologie gesehen (OECD 2001).\r\nDie nachhaltige Erschließung dieser Schlüsselressourcen soll durch die pan‐europäische\r\nForschungsinfrastruktur BBMRI‐ERIC mit dem Hauptquartier in Graz/Österreich sichergestellt\r\nwerden. Die österreichische wissenschaftliche Beteiligung an BBMRI‐ERIC erfolgt durch ein nationales\r\nNetzwerk (BBMRI.AT), das eng mit dem europäischen Hauptquartier zusammenarbeiten soll und die\r\nöffentlichen medizinischen Universitäten Österreichs, die Alpen Adria Universität Klagenfurt, die\r\nveterinärmedizinische Universität Wien und das Wiener Life Science Governance Institute als\r\nPartner vorsieht.\r\nDas Arbeitsprogramm von BBMRI.AT wird sich auf folgende Bereiche konzentrieren:\r\n Etablierung des österreichischen nationalen Knotens und die Vertretung des Knotens im BBMRIERIC\r\nManagement Komitee entsprechend den Statuten und des Businessplans von BBMRI‐ERIC;\r\n Optimale Harmonisierung der Prozesse innerhalb von BBMRI.AT, um die bestehenden Biobanken\r\nin eine nationale Forschungsinfrastruktur zu integrieren;\r\n Optimale Harmonisierung der Prozesse von BBMRI.AT mit denen von BBMRI‐ERIC, um die\r\ninternationale Sichtbarkeit und Bedeutung der österreichischen Biobanken und damit\r\nzusammenhängender Forschung zu erhöhen;\r\n Weiterentwicklung der österreichischen Stärken im Bereich von im Gesundheitssystem\r\nintegrierten Biobanken, um ein führender Partner für akademische und industrielle Forschung zu\r\nwerden.\r\n Verankerung von BBMRI.AT im gesellschaftlichen Umfeld unter Einbeziehung der öffentlichen\r\nErwartungshaltungen und ethisch/rechtliche Gegebenheiten.", "en": "Since centuries the systematic investigation of biological samples and medical data provides the\r\nfoundation for our knowledge on diseases and the development of new diagnostic procedures,\r\nmedications, and therapies. Therefore, biological samples are considered as the key resource for the\r\nadvancement of medicine and biotechnology (OECD 2001). The sustainable exploration of this key\r\nresource should be assured by the pan‐European research infrastructure BBMRI‐ERIC with its\r\nstatutory seat and executive management office in Graz/Austria. The scientific participation of\r\nAustria in BBMRI‐ERIC is exerted by a national node (BBMRI.AT) which should closely collaborate\r\nwith the central executive management office, and involves the Austrian public medical universities,\r\nthe Alpen Adria University Klagenfurt, the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, and the Life\r\nScience Governance Institute.\r\nThe work programme will
