Die Investition in eine gemeinsame Micro CT bietet die Möglichkeit einer hochauflösenden Dichte-Messung von Objekten sowie die Qualitätssicherung von additiv gefertigten und gefügten Hybrid-Bauteilen – d.h. die Untersuchung von rohstoff- und fertigungsbedingten Abweichungen, Bindefehler und Defekten in der Luftfahrt. Dies erlaubt den unterschiedlichen Fachdisziplinen die Durchführung von innovativen, forschungsgeleiteten Lehrveranstaltungen (Research Oriented Teaching) in den Bereichen der zerstörungsfreien Werkstoffprüfung, Bildrekonstruktion und Bildanalyse.
