It is rapidly absorbed and distributed so that it can be found in human body fluids as urine and breast milk throughout the population. Depending on the dosage and duration, DON exposure first leads to intestinal symptoms as intestinal barrier dysfunction and is further accompanied by neurological, reproductive, immunological disorders. So far, effects of the toxin have been frequently studied in animal- and conventional cell culture models with the known disadvantages. At the FH JOANNEUM, we analyzed the effects of DON on the intestinal barrier in a commercially available 3D gut-on a chip model, allowing to include intestinal/gut flow, extracellular matrix and membrane-free compartmentalization.

Demnach verstößt der Strafbestand „Hilfeleistung zum Selbstmord“ gegen das Recht des*der Einzelnen auf freie Selbstbestimmung, das auch das Recht eines*einer Suizidwilligen umfasst, die Hilfe eines dazu bereiten Dritten in Anspruch zu nehmen. Die Umsetzung dieser Erkenntnis des Verfassungsgerichtshofes durch den Gesetzgeber mündete in der Implementierung des Sterbeverfügungsgesetzes, das seit 1. Jänner 2022 in Kraft ist. Kranke, entscheidungsfähige Erwachsene dürfen nun unter Sicherstellung eines freien und selbstbestimmten Willens straffrei Suizidassistenz in Anspruch nehmen. In der alltäglichen Praxis der palliativmedizinischen Betreuung schwerstkranker Menschen und in der Betreuung geriatrischer und psychisch kranker Menschen wirft die Neuregelung der Sterbehilfe rechtliche und vor allem ethische Fragen auf. Im Ringen um einen verantwortbaren und respektvollen Umgang mit den Suizidwilligen aber auch mit den Begleitern dieser Menschen werden die Sichtweisen aus ärztlicher und juristischer Sicht in diesem Forumangesprochen und Lösungsversuche besprochen.

(Meta)data are assigned a globally unique and persistent identifier. Research data should be Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable but first we have to be able to Find it. Globally unique and persistent identifiers are essential to remove ambiguity in the meaning of published data and provide machine-readable metadata. However, PIDs are not only assigned to data sets and publications but are relevant to all aspects of the research life cycle including researchers, grants and organisations.
In this webinar, we will discuss the use of PIDs for researchers on a practical level and mainly focus on the Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID ID), and the registration of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for data sets and other publications. We will further examine the importance of PIDs for researchers and the (international) research infrastructure by taking a closer look at the digitisation project RIS Synergy. RIS Synergy creates the sustainable foundation for digitising the Austrian research landscape: 15 partner institutions develop open interfaces for access and exchange between the systems of funding organisations, research institutions and the public administration.

The Association is part of an initiative instigated by the European Commission to reform research assessment. The guiding aim is to put together a coalition of organisations who are committed to implementing reforms to the current research assessment systems. In this context, EUA was invited to join a drafting group to develop an agreement on reforming research assessment.
In this workshop series, EUA will present the whys and hows of this initiative, provide regular updates on the drafting process to its membership and collect feedback. The aim is to provide EUA members with the information they need to make an informed decision about signing the future agreement and joining the coalition on research assessment reform.
The workshops will include an opportunity for Q&A and active discussion in breakout groups. They will be of interest to institutional leaders, including rectors, vice-rectors and senior managers, as well as academic staff members in charge of research assessment and doctoral education. Members of the academic community, including researchers at all seniority levels, will also benefit from attending the workshop series.

Following the tradition of open science and joint workshops, we want to combine the concept of a standard Springschools with the spirit of Brainhacks and open it to everybody interested in behavior within the fields of medicine, cognitive science, biology, psychology, behavioral and social sciences to name only a few. As such, this spring school will be a 4-day hybrid event that combines open-hacking and unconference sessions with learning tracks all intermixed with featured talks under the umbrella of one general topic
“CHANGE: How to measure, detect, and quantify change reliably.”
This topic is inspired by the COVID-pandemic that consistently changed the world, science, and society. Therefore, all projects and featured talks will be given by invited speakers to enlighten the global theme of “Change” either from the perspective of the brain, from the point of view of behavior, or from a social point of view. In summary, this 2022 edition of the Brain, Behavior & Society Springschool should represent the starting point of a long-lasting series with variant themes and topics in the future.
In addition to time spent collaborating on a wide variety of projects, activities at the spring school will include:

• Getting started lectures on \"Modelling Brain, Behavior & Society”
• Presentations on \"Reproducibility in modern Science”
