Prof. Dr. Arno Eichberger from the Institute of Automotive Engineering at the Graz University of Technology, head of the research area Vehicle Dynamics will give a lecture on the topic „Self Driving Cars: Still a vision or future to become reality?“.
Electrification of automotive powertrains and vehicle automation are global megatrends in the automotive industry. Vehicle automation aims at increased vehicle safety, driver comfort, new mobility concepts, efficiency of vehicles and the transport system and support of elderly and handicapped people. The lecture presents the history of vehicle automation, main motivations but also challenges for market introduction and a vision of the future.

Im ersten Themenblock liegt der Fokus auf dem Lebenswandel: Bewegung, Ernährung und die Selbsthilfe werden hier in mehreren Vorträgen besprochen.
Im zweiten Themenblock steht die professionelle Unterstützung im Mittelpunkt: Expert*innen sprechen über psychologischen Support, neue technische Optionen bei CGM-Geräten (CGM = continuous glucose monitoring, zu Deutsch: kontinuierliche Glukosemessung) und -Pumpen und die Kooperation zwischen medizinischem Fachpersonal und Patient*innen.
Zum Abschluss dreht sich das Programm des Diabetestages schließlich noch um neue und bekannte Therapie- und Behandlungsoptionen. Aktuelle Entwicklungen bei der medikamentösen Therapie, ambulante und stationäre Rehabilitation wegen Diabetes und seiner Folgen und auch die Behandlung durch Lebensstiländerungen werden hier von Expert*innen besprochen und erläutert.
In den Pausen zwischen den einzelnen Themenblöcken können Besucher*innen die Fachausstellung besuchen, bei der eine Reihe von Neuheiten im Bereich der Technologie rund um Diabetes vorgestellt wird.

It provides three key functions:
allocating exclusive and/or non-exclusive access to resources (nodes) to users for some duration of time so they can perform work,
providing a framework for starting, executing, and monitoring work (typically a parallel job such as MPI) on a set of allocated nodes, and
arbitrating contention for resources by managing a queue of pending jobs.
This course will go over the basic principles of using the Slurm Workload Manager on the MedBioNode cluster. There will be some short hands-on exercises, so attendees should know how to work in Linux and log on the cluster as a prerequisites.
