In Österreich sind etwa 21% der Erwachsenen von chronischen Schmerzen betroffen. Kreuzschmerzen machen dabei einen erheblichen Teil aus. Die Chronifizierung ist mit hohen sozioökonomischen Kosten verbunden. Im Hinblick auf die begrenzten Therapieoptionen sowie die Risiken langfristiger Opioidtherapien rücken medizinische Cannabinoide zunehmend in den Fokus. Androgene nehmen eine zentrale Rolle in der Reproduktionsmedizin ein, da sie die Follikelreifung, Embryonalentwicklung und Endometriumrezeptivität beeinflussen können. Bisherige Studien zeigten widersprüchliche Ergebnisse zum Einfluss von Androgenen auf die IVF-Ergebnisse.
