Auch wenn die Behandlung von Tumorschmerzen eine medizinische Herausforderung darstellt, so erscheint ein adäquates Schmerzmanagement entscheidend, um das Leid der Betroffenen bestmöglich zu lindern. Zur Verbesserung der neuropathischen Tumorkomponente kommen die beiden Antikonvulsiva Pregabalin und Gabapentin zum Einsatz. Zum Einsatz der beiden Wirkstoffe bei Palliativpatient*innen liegen genauso begrenzt Daten vor wie Informationen zum Kurzzeiteffekt dieser Antikonvulsiva.
