Trotz intensiver Forschungsbemühungen, die sich nun fast über zwei Jahrzehnte erstrecken ist es nicht gelungen die Überlebensrate von Patienten, die oft nur knapp über einem Jahr liegt, zu verlängern - vorausgesetzt ein operativer Eingriff ist zumutbar. Durch die beschränkte Zugänglichkeit durch die Bluthirnschranke, die hohe Teilungsrate der Tumorzellen und die vielseitige Therapeutika Resistenz ist die Behandlung und die vollständige Heilung nach wie vor eine enorme Herausforderung. In dieser Dissertation wird ein neues Konzept präsentiert, welches die lokale Behandlung solcher komplexen Tumore im Hirn ermöglichen soll. Sogenannte organische elektronische Pumpen (OEIP) können eingesetzt werden um Chemotherapeutika gezielt und kontrolliert zu verabreichen und bieten somit die Möglichkeit einer konstanten, lokalen Behandlung über einen längeren Zeitraum hinweg. Wir konnten zeigen, dass neben dem effektiven Vorreiter Gemcitabine (Gem) auch weitere Chemotherapeutika über die OEIP transportiert werden können, um GBM-Zellen effektiv zu therapieren. Darüber hinaus waren wir in der Lage mithilfe des sogenannten Chorioallantoischen Membran Assays (CAM) die Ionenpumpen erfolgreich auf GBM-Tumoren zu betreiben. Der konstant anhaltende und kontrollierte Betrieb der Ionenpumpen führte zur Induktion apoptotischer Signale und beeinflusste den Zellzyklus der wachsenden Tumore. Außerdem konnten wir zeigen, dass die OEIP als einzige Behandlung in der Lage waren das Tumorwachstum über längere Zeit zu inhibieren. Im Rahmen des Hochschullehrgangs mit Schwerpunkt Energie- und Netzplanung gewinnt die Thematik der effizienten Netzausbauplanung zunehmend an Relevanz. Diese Masterarbeit befasst sich mit der Frage, welchen Mehrwert der Einsatz neuartiger Gleichstrombetriebsmittel (DC) gegenüber klassischen Wechselstromlösungen (AC) in der Netzausbauplanung generieren kann.\r\nZiel der Arbeit ist es, ein Verfahren zu entwickeln, das Engpässe im Stromnetz frühzeitig erkennt und auf dieser Basis automatisierte Ausbaumaßnahmen vorschlägt. Besonderes Augenmerk liegt auf der Integration von DC-Technologien als mögliche Optimierungsstrategie. Die Methodik basiert auf einer Kombination aus fundierter Literaturrecherche, Dokumentenanalyse sowie einer mathematischen Modellierung und Simulation mit der Open-Source-Software „Pandapower“ in Python. Dazu wurde ein realitätsnahes Beispielnetz erstellt und mit drei Ausbauvarianten (Zuleitung gleicher Typ, Leitung mit größerem Querschnitt, Gleichstromleitung) simuliert.\r\nDie Ergebnisse zeigen, dass alle Varianten zu einer Verbesserung der Netzauslastung beitragen.
