Large multicenter randomized trials have demonstrated that different saturation ranges significantly impact the risk of several neonatal complications and mortality. Since clinical management and bedside decisions depend heavily on continuous, noninvasive pulse oximetry, the reliability and accuracy of these readings are essential. Der neurodegenerative und progrediente Verlauf stellt aufgrund vieler Faktoren, wie alternder Gesellschaft und steigender Fallzahlen, eine große Herausforderung für die medizinische Wissenschaft der Zukunft dar. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurde untersucht, inwiefern sich die Gabe von Amyloid-Beta-Oligomeren sowie Eisen auf die Synapsenzahl sowie weitere ultrastrukturelle Merkmale im Gehirn auswirkt. Betrachtet wurden diese Aspekte im Gewebekulturmodell, wobei sowohl humane, als auch porzine Gewebeschnitte des Hippocampus mittels organotypischer Hirnschnittkultur (OBSC) kultiviert wurden. Es folgte eine Unterteilung in vier Untergruppen: eine unbehandelte Kontrollgruppe, eine mit Eisen angereicherte Gruppe, eine mit Beta-Amyloid behandelte Gruppe, sowie eine Untergruppe aus kombinierter Anreicherung von Beta-Amyloid und Eisen.
