Die Unterscheidung gelingt in über 90% der Fälle allein mit Hilfe der klinischen Untersuchung und Anamnese hinsichtlich Erstmanifestation und Wachstumsverhalten. Zur Sicherung der Diagnostik dienen die Magnetresonanz-Tomographie und die Farbkodierte Doppler Sonographie. Die Unterscheidung ist maßgeblich für die korrekte Erstellung eines Therapieschemas, das für jeden Patienten individuell geplant werden muss. Insbesondere die verschiedenen pathoanatomischen Formen der vaskulären Malformationen (arterielle, venöse, lymphatische, arteriovenöse und kombinierte) verlangen nach jeweils eigenen Behandlungsschemata. \r\nStudienziel. Im Rahmen der retrospektiven Untersuchung von Patienten mit vaskulären Malformationen sollten die verschiedenen Therapiemethoden hinsichtlich Änderung der klinischen Beschwerdesymptomatik und des Malformationsvolumens bewertet werden. Weiters erhoben wir mittels eines standardisierten Fragebogens die Beurteilung des Körperbildes nach der Behandlung. \r\nMaterial und Methoden: 73 Patienten wurden nachuntersucht. Erhoben wurde die Anamnese hinsichtlich Erstmanifestation und Wachstumsverhalten der vaskulären Malformation sowie über Behandlungen vor der Vorstellung an unserer Abteilung. Weiters enthielt das Untersuchungsprotokoll die durchgeführten diagnostischen Maßnahmen, die histologisch Zuordnung der Malformationsformen anhand der Hamburg-Klassifikation, das aktuelle klinische Erscheinungsbild und die Behandlungen an der Klinischen Abteilung für Plastische Chirurgie. Die histologische Einteilung ergab 14% mit vorwiegend arteriellen Malformationen, 62% mit vorwiegend venösen, 1% mit vorwiegend lymphatischen, 22% mit vorwiegend AV-Shunts und 1% mit kombinierten Malformationen. Therapeutisch wurde bei 29% der Patienten eine Exzision durchgeführt, bei 25% eine Teilresektion, bei 9% eine transkutan Laserung, bei 11% eine intraläsionale Laserung und bei 38% eine Embolisation.
