Es gibt viele Therapieansätze den retinierten Eckzahn wieder in seine ursprüngliche Position z bringen , vor allem wegen seiner wichtigen okklusalen Funktion und strukturellen Beschaffenheit, aber auch wegen seiner bedeutenden ästhetischen Funktion. Wenn sie der impaktierte Eckzahn in einer leicht zugänglichen Position befindet, und genügend Platz im Zahnbogen vorhanden ist, dann ist die operative Freilegung mit nachfolgender orthodontischer Eingliederung die Therapie der Wahl. In Fällen mit entweder tiefliegender und schwerzugänglicher Impaktierung oder bei älteren Patienten, bei denen eine orthodontische Therapie nah chirurgischer Freilegung nicht viel Aussicht auf Erfolg hat, ist die Atuotransplatiation die Therapie der Wahl, auch wenn bei der Transplantation eines schwer zugänglichen retinierten Eckzahns die Gefahr der Wurzelresorption und Verletzung des parodontalen Ligaments gegeben ist, und sich dadurch die Prognose verschlechtern kann. Die Notwendigkeit der Wurzelkanalbehandlung des transplantierten Zahnes ist vom Entwicklungsstadium der Wurzel abhängig. In diesem Zusammenhang hat sich herausgestellt, dass transplantierte Eckzähne mit einem unvollendeten Wurzelwachstum eine bessere Langzeitprognose haben, und sich die Wurzelresorption als mögliche auftretende Komplikation weniger oft beobachten lässt.", "authors": [ "Gluhak, C" ], "year": 2005, "source": "[ Diplomarbeit/Master Thesis ] Graz Medical University; 2005.
